Message from our Founder
As a lifelong innovator and entrepreneur in the business world and creative agencies, I’ve always encouraged people to think boldly and use their ‘whole brain’. I believe everyone has the creativity to explore new ideas and an innate capacity to make business sense of them. And no matter what sector or what the nature of the quest, any idea that is envisioned for scale and sustainable impact needs to be thought of as a business idea.
Through my work at University of Toronto’s Rotman School of Management, I had the incredible opportunity to work with some of the brightest minds in developing and honing a discipline called Business Design - bringing together the best principles and practices of business with those of design. Simply put, it’s a discipline that helps innovators come up with new ideas, and turn them into scalable, sustainable business ideas.
Having taught and coached over 10,000 professionals and published Design Works, the question that others have always asked me is: “How can more people have access to this knowledge and know-how, and put it to work on their business?”
So our mission was to codify and digitize that ‘process’. Hundreds of talented people contributed their insights and know-how in our development journey to build Vuka Works and the learning programs that help people with ideas take their best shot at success. Our aim was to make our products sophisticated and rigorous, but easy to follow and intuitive to use.
Ultimately, our motivation is to level the playing field of opportunity. Our goal is simple: to help innovators and entrepreneurs everywhere design and de-risk their business ideas, and set them on a clear path forward.
We’re excited to have a growing network of like-minded professionals around the world who have joined the Vuka quest to give everyone with bold ideas their best shot at success.
